I’m reminded of the days when I made decisions about which magazine to pick when the youngster from the local high school brought his fundraising binder to my door. Back then there wasn’t any “all things to all people” publication, and we easily picked our Time, Newsweek, Life, Post, or New Yorker, selection for our “weekly” reading. These publications carefully edited the news, pictures, and articles into a style and format that pleased us at the time.
Now we have a bunch of interactive social media services that overlap tremendously into an amorphous blend of features, styles, ideas, interests, and tastes – I guess.
But like them or not, they are becoming the fabric of a 21st century “New Media” information landscape that continues to attract users and advertisers alike.
But where it will settle out is still a huge question.
