Just when we think we were beginning to get ahead of the bad guys, our digital cameras get hacked. Not literally, by potentially.
My conclusion to all this is that as we add convenience features and capabilities, we also get additional risks and vulnerabilities. And for the unwary, the consequences may be horrible.
The problem is that all the publicity and marketing attention is to the features and discriminating capabilities. You really have to dig deep to find information about the drawbacks and risks. And then, the critics and pundits are held to an extremely high standard to “prove” that there may be a problem.
Part of the landscape? It doesn’t have to be if you don’t want it to be.
