Illusion. Disillusionment. Joy. Three states of reality in many relationships both personal and business.
The “Hype Cyle” cited in the All Things D post suggests that we always seem to jump on the band wagon early and then let reality set it.
It’s as if many IT leaders need to find another star to hang their hats on or at least justify existence by going to conferences, adopting the latest and greatest, and then touting it as the latest cool advance in the field.
Well, it may work for some, but as suggested in the “Big Data” disillusionment post, we’ll have to work the concept mush further before we can pass into the productivity phase.
Apologies for the bad news.
