Its all about bandwidth folks.
What say? Yup, bandwidth.
And the story isn’t getting any better. In case you didn’t notice, most of the mobile connectivity providers have put a cap on your monthly bandwidth at 5GB of some such figure. To the uninitiated that means that there IS a limit on how many pictures or songs or – heaven forbid – videos that you try to watch or upload to your smartphone.
And now the marketing departments are telling the “Smartest Companies” to use more pictures. And nobody is going to make it easier or less expensive for you to view them.
Gone are the days of the black and white newspaper and B&W TV. But when all that changed eons ago, we didn’t pay more for a newspaper. Yes we had to buy a newer TV and have had to do that many times since (17″ then 25″ then flat panel and now HDTV). But we seem to upgrade our mobile devices every two years now, don’t we.
I suspect that there will be a consumer revolt at some point.
