The first question is, “Which of the new Apple iPhones sold the most units over the past weekend?” Conventional wisdom would say the lower priced model, because more folks formerly unable to afford the iPhone would now be able to buy one. But the answer is that the higher priced 5S sold more than three times as many as the colorful plastic 5C.
Conclusion: the snob appeal of the iPhone is still a very important selling point. After all, what self-respecting professional or college student would be seen in public with a cheap plastic iPhone? And the gold 5S? If you can find one, let me know.
