Here’s the scoop on unplugging your cable (“cutting the cord”) and using Internet only for TV. For those of you who “want it all” this is probably a very bad idea. But for those who value independence higher than flexible entertainment, you might want to try it.
A couple of tips:
- If you’ve been with the same cable company for a while and choose to cancel, getting service restored may be a very different process than when you did it years ago.
- There are other options beside cable – like Satellite – that may or may not suit your needs but at very reasonable costs for “basic” service.
- Premium channels and sporting events have taken the cable/satellite by storm and can be very expensive if you think that leaving cable and then adding premium service might be cost-effective.
