Even though the boundaries between “professional” and “personal” are slipping in our global, Internet, economies, there is still a need to put on a tie or business suit and show up for face-to-face meetings and interpersonal transactions. A social network that values that ethic IS important.
I think we need to be careful about how quickly we abandon some of our tried and true commercial practices. I have always thought that Linked In rose above the sheer “fluff” of telling your friends that you had a burger for lunch. Does following celebrities honor that?
