Trust this isn’t too little too late for Microsoft. Like the changes in fortune for IBM at the turn of the millenium, Microsoft is faced with a tipping pointin the evolution of modern technology. Once the leader and standard bearer, the rapid development of the smartphone and the move away from PCs and laptops to tablets and hand-held devices has challenged their supremacy.
By redirecting their efforts to the cloud with Azure and attempting to extend their newest OS, Windows 8 to both tablets and smartphones, they suddenly find themselves in the middle of a crowd of players.
The future is really uncertain for our friends in Redmond.
Would YOU buy a Surface tablet or Windows phone? Come on, be honest now.
