2015 was the year the cloud defeated tech’s aging giants
The year was 2009 and we were attending Interop, the technology infrastructure trade show held each year in both New York and Las Vegas. The Cloud, Cloud Services, and a bunch of new acronyms like SaaS. TaaS, and PaaS were being bandied about indescriminately, as if everyone in attendence already knew what they meant. We immediately opened up our first Amazon S3 account to store all those customer files that we’d planned to wean from their premises datacenter storage.
Who woulda known?
