“Data breach after data breach continues to be in the headlines, again highlighting the failure of inadequate security architectures to protect our most sensitive data. The VPN is the choice of most organizations. And it has a number of limitations that don’t assure protection.
- 41% of surveyed security professionals estimate that their firm’s sensitive data was potentially compromised or breached in the past 12 months.
- 70% of respondents use VLANs to segment internal networks, despite the inability of VLANs to contain hackers, control user application access based on roles, or prevent lateral movement in internal systems.
- 90% of respondents use VPNs for protection of sensitive traffic outside the perimeter but that offer no protection once a hacker has compromised a user and gained access to the internal systems.
- 80% use firewalls to segment networks, but these again are designed around a perimeter and trust everything inside the perimeter.”
We now have a serious need for solutions that will privatize our data and information so that it can be protected in place, regardless of the vulnerability of its location.
