Many of us upgrade our smartphones every couple of years.  Few are careful about making certain that any data that we had stored on the phone – contacts, photos, videos, music – has been removed before putting the phone on Craigslist or Ebay.  As the author of the following article suggests, you might be better off destroying the device rather than trusting that you have cleaned it effectively.

If you aren’t this paranoid, at least perform a factory reset AND remove any SD or memory devices from the phone before selling it.
