Here’s the first post that started The Cloud is Huge in early 2011. It was actually posted on another blog site, Transxfer.
The original intent was to illuminate the issues which cloud computing, new media, and other technology advances were raising with out ethics, culture, lifestyles, politics, business, and attitudes about their influences on our lives.
Key to most of this has been continuing challenges to our Privacy, Identity protection, Information Security, and a host of other developments to which we pay little or no attention. But when one of them is confronted – as it was when Edward Snowden blew the whistle on the NSA and then defected to Russia – then we perk-up and pay attention.
Similarly, when a massive threat like Heartbleed is discovered and discussed, we again pay some attention.
the most interesting aspect of all this is that in many cases it takes years for some or all of this information to make its way around the world, into and out of the social media accounts, articles, tweets, links, pins, diggs, stumbles, and other methods of moving it.
So here’s to Thoughts and Opinions from 50,000 Feet on a lazy Saturday afternoon in 2014!
