For the uninitiated, this storage has no moving parts and is quickly moving from the external flash drives that we carry in our pockets into portable devices and now the data center.  Cooling and power continue to be components of data center operation in need of  attention and cost controls.

With Seagate interested, you can bet the price points for flash memory will eventually kill the traditional disk drive market AND close many of those Indonesian and Southeast Asian factories.
