Finally – for this blogger – a cursory review of the Microsoft Surface Tablet. So far, for me, we’re still at the neither fish nor fowl stage of this thing.
Obviously, Microsoft had to finally get into the computer hardware business after their quasi successful entry into the gaming market – XBox 360, and their failure in the media player space with Zune.
But it may be the same old story: Purpose the OS for a number of uses to leverage the development costs. And that means Windows 8 in flavors for a smartphone, tablet, and computer. So far, Apple has been the only company to pull that off. And Google isn’t far behind. But they don’t have to maintain the massive development overhead that Microsoft does. Android is so much more agile.
Enough from me. Try them out – the Windows 8 flavors – and let me know what you think.
