Qwerty keyboards rule!  Most of us English speakers take the keyboard with alphabetic characters on it for granted.  But people who use character-based languages like mandarin chinese or japanese must depend upon shortened character sets in order to type as these languages were originally designed to be drawn by hand rather than machine.

So the acceptance of the English language for global computing activities is an important consideration for innovation and product development.
